Makhzoumi Foundation launched the play “Sawa Mnoussal” (Together we Can Make it), in “Al-Medina Theatre” in Hamra, on Saturday, July the 5th 2008, at 5:30 pm. Were present at the premiere, the founder of Makhzoumi Foundation, Mr. Fouad Makhzoumi, the President of the Foundation, Mrs. May Makhzoumi, the General Secretary of the Higher Council for Childhood, Mr. Elie Mikhael, the representative of OMSAR, Ms. Youmna Chakr Ghoraib, directors and representatives of the schools and the parents of the students participating in the project, as well as a large audience.
After the Lebanese national anthem, the program of the first night was presented, after which the director of the awareness program in Makhzoumi Foundation, Ms. Sallameh Nehmene, talked about the project entitled “let’s dialogue”, which is carried out by Makhzoumi Foundation, within the program “Afkar II” financed by EU and managed by OMSAR, in cooperation with the Higher Council of Childhood-Ministry of Social Affairs. Ms. Nehmene also mentioned that the play is about the content of the “Convention on the Rights of the Child”, in particular its article #13.

Then, the representative of the Ministry of State for Administrative Reform and the coordinator of Afkar program, Ms. Youmna Chakr Ghoraib took the floor. Ms Ghoraib set out the difficulties faced by Makhzoumi Foundation during the execution of the project, due to the security developments that prevented the performance of the play during the month of May. Ms. Ghoraib praised in this regard the Foundation and the students participating in the play for their courage, their determination to continue the preparation of the play and for their commitment to the rehearsals so as to make the project a success.
35 students from the intermediate classes of the school year 2007-2008, coming from different schools from Beirut and its suburbs took part in the play. They contributed to the writing of the play and of its song, after being trained by educational experts.
After the performance of the play, medals were given to the schools that and the students who participated in the project.
